Versatile and unique, Trovatori are a duo of exceptional classical
singers whose talents have taken them all over the world. As well as singing, they both play classical guitars and perform many of their own arrangements of classics from
opera, operetta, musicals, films, Neapolitan and folk songs.
Trovatori ("wandering minstrels") are Darren Clarke and Caroline Lester, who met while singing in the operas Death in Venice and Tosca at the Bregenz Festival in Austria. They formed Trovatori in 2009 to present quality live entertainment encompassing the many genres of music for which they have a passion. From singing grand operatic numbers through to intimate folk songs, and from operetta to modern musicals, they are two of the most talented and exciting performers you are likely to see.
Darren studied at the Royal Northern College of Music. His singing career has taken him to opera houses and theatres in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, and Europe. He is also an accomplished lieder singer. Caroline studied composition at Durham University and reached the final stages of Channel 4's Operatunity and ITV's Search for a Soprano. She has performed numerous operatic roles and has appeared in many oratorios and concerts across the UK, Europe and the United States.
In the summer of 2011 they were a headlining act for Thomson Gold at their hotels across Europe, and are in demand for appearances at music festivals, corporate events, concerts and galas.
